Personal Statement Letter Letter - 1306 Words

Dear Mr. Schultz, If I added up all of the money spent on my daily rituals at your coffee shops, I could probably afford to enjoy a caffeine-free weeklong tropical vacation. However, no matter how good that sounds right now, nothing can come between my Starbucks addiction and me. Being such a devoted customer of your company, I feel obligated to share with you my opinion about why your Race Together campaign backfired. First of all, I want to tell you how I found out about the initiative you and your partners came up with. As I made my usual morning stop at the local Starbucks cafà © and was given my cup of coffee, I noticed the barista write #RaceTogether beneath my name. I was eager to ask her the meaning of this phrase, but she was already busy serving other customers. Later on that day, however, I decided to do my own research. As I googled the phrase, I immediately saw a massive explosion of negativity directed towards you and your company. Words such as hubristic, clueless, insensitive, and exploitative were being thrown at you. Twitter was fired up with a barrage of scornful tweets filled with visceral hate and disgust for Starbucks. â€Å"Not sure what †ª@Starbucks†¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¬ was thinking.
